Pranayama

and the five winds

Online

The search for stillness, recovery, and inner balance often leads us to yoga and meditation. But these methods are more than techniques for relaxation, they are keys to our energy system and to our own ability to direct the life force within us.

Pranayama is the art of breathing consciously and is a central part of traditional yoga.  Prana Prana means life energy, and ayama ayama means control or expansion. By learning to understand and work with your energy system, you can consciously direct the breath for various purposes.

The breath is more than just oxygen; it acts as a bridge between the body and the mind and influences our entire physical, emotional, and mental state. In this more advanced course, we delve deeper into the five winds, Vata’s subdoshas, and how they move through the body. We come to understand this energy, consciously direct it, and use it to cultivate balance, vitality, and inner harmony.

During these Sundays, we will explore together how pranayama techniques can transform our overall well-being. Through meditation and practical exercises, you will have the opportunity to turn your attention inward and experience the power of breath on a deeper level.

You choose how far you want to go, perhaps you see this as a pleasant moment to meditate in community, or you may wish to deepen your understanding and work daily with meditation and the practices presented
