In Ayurveda, the practice of living in harmony with the seasons is called Ritucharya. It is one of Ayurveda’s most important principles, as it has long been observed that imbalance and illness often arise during the transition between seasons.
When climate, light, and energy shift rapidly, but diet and lifestyle remain unchanged, the body cannot adapt in time. The doshas, Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, may then accumulate, creating stagnation, irritation, or instability.

Spring and autumn are the most powerful transitional periods of the year, according to both Ayurveda and modern research.
Spring is a time when the body naturally wants to release winter accumulations such as heaviness, stagnation, and mucus. The gut microbiome and immune system are ready for adjustment, but need the right conditions to do so gently.
Autumn brings increased movement and change in nature, which affects the nervous system. Without support, this can lead to stress, worry, dryness, and energy loss.
Ayurveda therefore recommends seasonal cleanses, precisely during these periods. An Ayurvedic cleanse is not a quick detox, but a thoughtful and gentle process that:
– Supports the gut in reestablishing its healthy microbiome
· Supports the body’s natural detoxification systems
· Boosts digestive and immune function
· Calms the nervous system

The body is dynamic and constantly adapts to changes in light, temperature, diet, and daily rhythm. At the center of this adaptation is the digestive system, stomach and intestines, which are often referred to as the body’s “second brain.”
Recent research also shows that the gut microbiome is seasonal. Different bacterial strains dominate at different times of the year, depending on food availability, fiber variety, daylight, temperature, and activity levels. This is not a dietand you don’t need to starve yourself. The program is a complete restoration for both body and nervous system, with gentle meals, daily rituals, and support throughout the entire journey.
Three phases – gentle and personalized for you
Preparation (Days 1–7)
You slowly let go of what burdens your body and mind, incorporating lighter, easier-to-digest foods. Meanwhile, digestion is gently balanced, and you get ready, both mentally and practically, for the cleanse.
Cleansing (Days 8–14)
In this phase, you enjoy a gentle, easy-to-digest diet alongside herbal supplements. For 3–4 days, kitchari with ghee forms the main meal. Rituals like tongue scraping and sesame oil massage are also incorporated, soothing the nervous system and promoting a feeling of lightness.
Options include:
- a completely vegetarian cleanse or one with a small amount of animal protein
- a gentler cleanse without basti (enema)
- a more intensive cleanse with at-home basti (enema)
The choice is made based on what feels safe and reasonable for you.
Restoration (Days 15–21)
During this phase, the body and nervous system are supported with nourishing foods and calming routines. It helps you retain the effects of the cleanse and seamlessly bring them into your everyday life.
Structure
You receive clear written guidance, along with support and coaching throughout the entire process. You choose the level at which you want to carry out the cleansing.
Before the start, you will receive a self-assessment tool regarding eating habits, daily routines, and lifestyle. This forms the basis for tailoring the program to your needs.
