But these methods are more than techniques for relaxation, they are keys to our energy system and to our own ability to direct the life force within us.<br \/><br \/><\/span><b>Pranayama<\/b> is the art of breathing consciously and is a central part of traditional yoga.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><i>Prana<\/i> Prana means life energy, and <i>ayama <\/i>ayama means control or expansion. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">By learning to understand and work with your energy system, you can consciously direct the breath for various purposes.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The breath is more than just oxygen; it acts as a bridge between the body and the mind and influences our entire physical, emotional, and mental state. In this more <b>advanced course,<\/b> we delve deeper into the five winds, Vata\u2019s subdoshas, and how they move through the body. We come to understand this energy, consciously direct it, and use it to cultivate balance, vitality, and inner harmony.<\/p>\n<p>During these Sundays, we will explore together how pranayama techniques can transform our overall well-being.
